First Steps

We want you to enjoy your pregnancy and feel prepared to become a parent. Amongst the huge number of pregnancy resources available we recommend some to get you started.

Self-Referral Service

If you are more than six weeks pregnant you can now book your maternity care directly with Ashford and St Peter’s maternity services by completing our Maternity Self Referral Form.

Medication

If you take prescribed medicines for any medical condition you must seek urgent medical advice as soon as you have had a positive pregnancy test.

Antenatal Care

Soon after you discover that you are pregnant you are advised to either see you midwife or your GP to organize your antenatal care.

Antenatal Education

We recommend you attend these sessions when you are around 34 weeks pregnant. Birth partners are welcome, you will need to book one place per couple.

Education Videos

In this section, we have links to our antenatal education videos. You can also visit our maternity YouTube channel.

Preterm Birth Clinic

This is a specialist obstetric clinic for managing and providing extra support for women who are at a higher risk of having a baby born too early.
