Staff at St Peter's and Ashford Hospitals were surprised but very grateful by the generosity of the Jubilee Church, Manygate Lane, Shepperton when two hampers were delivered to them in early January.
This was done during a time of considerable pressure on the hospitals in recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by staff at this time.
Ashford and St Peter's Chief Nurse, Heather Caudle said: "This was a fantastic display of community spirit and support by Jubilee Church during a really tough time. The hampers were very welcome gifts that helped keep staff energy levels up and to keep them going. I can't thank the Jubilee Church and their members enough for their generosity and thoughtfulness."
Tim James from Ashford, a member of Jubilee Church, came up with this wonderful idea, which was inspired by his daughters praying for the busy doctors and nurses. Tim is a senior Paediatric Nurse at the Evelina London Children's Hospital in London and has previously worked in Paediatric A&E and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit so knows only too well the pressures that doctors and nurses are under.
