On admission, we suggest you bring the following items with you:-

  • Your admission letter.
  • Please bring with you all medications prescribed for you by your general practitioner. If you use a dossett box, please bring it with you and alert staff to fact that you use one at home. In particular patients who have diabetes are requested to bring their insulin injections and pen / needles.
  • A copy of your prescribed medicines and any over the counter / herbal medicines that you take.
  • Any special aids used, e.g. feeding cups, adapted cutlery.
  • Personal toiletries (including hand wipes).
  • Pyjamas / nightdress and dressing gown.
  • Clothing to wear during the day.
  • Suitable footwear (it is recommended patients bring in well fitting slippers / trainers or ‘walking type’ shoes).
  • Spectacles, hearing aid and dentures.
  • Your wheelchair if you are a wheelchair user.
  • Walking aids if you usually use them at home.
  • Reading material.
  • Small change for telephone calls, newspapers and other small items.
  • Outpatient appointment card (for your follow-up appointment when you go home).
  • Your house keys ready for when you are discharged.
  • If you have sleep apnoea, please bring your own CPAP machine.
