What is the Network?
A comprehensive critical care review by the Department of Health recommended that groups of hospitals within geographical areas formed networks (larger groups) in an attempt to provide consistent and auditable care for clients within those areas.
Ashford and St Peter’s joined together with Guildford, Frimley Park and East Surrey and Sussex to form the Surrey Wide Critical Care Network, led by Jackie Huddleston.
Network Projects
- Collecting accurate and relevant data on performance of Critical Care Units and Outreach services
- Providing a network respiratory weaning co-ordinator (Debbie Field) to assist with difficult to wean patients
- Ventilator Care Bundles
- Spinal Injury Care Bundle
- Transfer of critically ill patients within the network
