Feeding and Nurturing

Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital are proud to be a UNICEF Baby Friendly hospital. We pride ourselves on providing a service that supports breastfeeding and building close and loving relationships between parents and their babies.

 

Hearing Screening

We aim to screen your baby’s hearing before discharge but if this is not possible or we need to complete the screen we will offer appointments at a number of venues. If you have any concerns at all please ring the Newborn Hearing Screening team 01483 783143.

 

Swine Flu

Everyone is potentially at risk but the risk is greater if you have been in contact with other people who have been diagnosed as having probable swine flu, including school age children. It is important for you to monitor your health closely for seven days after any contacts.

 

Whooping Cough

On 27 September 2012, a CMO letter announced the introduction of a temporary programme to vaccinate pregnant women against pertussis to protect their infants. The following information has been taken from the Public Health England website.
