On very rare occasions, patients may need to be transferred to a ward either at Ashford or at St. Peter’s Hospital for an overnight stay.

When this happens it is usually due to:

  • A patient making a slower recovery than expected.

  • Anaesthetic side-effects such as excessive pain or sickness.

  • More complicated surgery than originally planned.

We will ensure that your contact person is kept fully informed.
