Maternity Star Awards - Innovation and Improvement

The Maternity Star Awards recognises staff members who go above and beyond in their role to provide high quality care and support for our patients and colleagues.

In late December we celebrated the winners of the 13 award categories, with a small ceremony held in the patient education room at St Peter’s Hospital.

The nominees were chosen by their colleagues who felt they deserved recognition for their hard work, dedication and high-quality care they provide. Nominees for The People’s Choice Award were also selected by women and their families who had been cared for by our maternity services.

The People’s Choice Award was chosen by the public and awarded to Claire, Complex Care Midwife, for her care and compassion. One of the nominations received read: “Claire for looking after my stillborn and bringing my rainbow baby safely into this world I can’t ever thank her enough.”

This is the first year we’ve held these awards, so we’re delighted to have received almost 80 nominations that recognised staff who have gone the extra mile in their role. We look forward to celebrating again with colleagues later in the year at our next event.”

It’s wonderful to see colleagues come together to recognise those who have gone above and beyond to support parents and in their teams. Thank you to those who nominated and well done to those who received an award or were nominated for their efforts.”
