St Peters Hospital

This week Ashford and St Peter’s and Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trusts have launched a new electronic patient record system - known as Surrey Safe Care, setting the scene for joined up care across the county.

The system consists of a series of software applications that bring together and digitalise clinical and administrative data to replace paper-based records that will improve processes and increase safety, efficiency and experience for patients.

Transition to the new system has required a phenomenal amount of work over the past few days and we would like to thank all colleagues involved in this for their dedication and tenacity. The roll out is going well and we have made great progress, however there are inevitable teething issues and our hospitals are currently under a lot of pressure as we get used to this new way of working. There may be some delays when coming to our hospitals over the coming days and we greatly appreciate the support and patience of patients, relatives, and visitors. We are doing everything possible to get everyone fully up-to-speed with the new system and minimise disruption

The implementation of Surrey Safe Care involves a major, digitally-enabled transformational change and by working together, we have the capability to share patient records, resources and skillsets between the two organisations and to collaboratively redesign pathways to deliver the highest possible quality of care for our patients.

Thank you to our partners and local community for your ongoing support.
