The PGEC at St Peter's Hospital

As a strong supporter of the 'Step into Health' initiative - which connects employers in the NHS to people from the armed forces community - and to celebrate Armed Services Week, Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals is holding a special careers event aimed specifically at armed forces personnel who are looking to transfer to alternative careers.

The event is being held next Monday 2nd July, from 4.00 - 7.30 pm at St Peter's Hospital (full details below) and is an opportunity for current armed forces personnel, veterans and their spouses to learn more about career opportunities within the NHS. Department managers from the hospital will also be on hand to give advice on the types of roles available and how to apply.

Said Andrea Lewis, Associate Director for Emergency Services at the Trust: "We are proud to be active supporters of the 'Step into Health' initiative; the Trust already employs many colleagues who have successfully made the transition from the armed services to the NHS, including our Chief Executive and myself, and we know the huge contribution and transferable skills armed services personnel have to offer. With recruitment a significant and continuing challenge for the NHS, it's important we continue to maximise our recruitment opportunities and do all we can to encourage skilled and talented people to join us. Our event next week is open to all armed forces personnel, service leavers, veterans and their spouses and we would encourage anyone interested to come along and find out more."

Details of the event are as follows:

  • Monday 2nd July 2018, 16:00 - 19:30
