What is Hand Therapy?

Hand Therapy is a specialised area of rehabilitation focused on the assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the hand and wrist. It is a science-based profession that takes a holistic, person-centred approach to care, recognising how essential hand function is to everyday activities, employment and leisure.

In keeping with our trust values, we put patients first by tailoring treatment to what matters most to you. We take personal responsibility for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, with a passion for excellence in supporting recovery and restoring function. We also work with pride as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team to ensure you receive the best possible support throughout your rehabilitation.

At the core of Hand Therapy is your involvement in your own recovery. Through education, awareness and active participation in treatment, we aim to empower you to understand your condition and work towards your individual goals. Our advice is supported by both The British Association for Hand Therapy and The British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
