We aim to deliver excellent care by offering children and young people with diabetes an ongoing integrated package of care provided by our multidisciplinary paediatric diabetes team (MDT).  To optimise the effectiveness of care and reduce the risk of complications, our diabetes team includes members with appropriate training in clinical, educational, dietetic, lifestyle and mental health aspects of diabetes for the children and young people in our care.

We provide full diabetes team support from the time of diagnosis to follow up and transition to adult diabetes services.  We offer full range of intensive insulin regimen and health surveillance.  We are involved in ongoing professional development and education to maintain best practice.

We aim to deliver excellent care by offering children and young people with diabetes and their family members and carers’ 24-hour access to advice from the diabetes team and we involve children and young people with diabetes and their family members or carers in making decisions about the package of care provided by us.

We aim to improve our services through accurate data collection and analysis, by implementing national recommendations as appropriate, by participating in the annual NPDA audit and other audits as requested by our Network.  We also aim to improve our service provision by involving patients and families in service evaluation and improvement.

Our service is delivered as part of the Children and Young People's South East Coast & London Diabetes Network.
