As you will have seen, we are moving into the next phase of managing the COVID pandemic in addition to caring for non COVID patients and reinstating some of the services that have temporarily been on hold.

We are continuing to adapt ways of working to ensure that we can deliver the best possible care to patients as well as looking after ourselves and each other.

I spoke about a key area of focus being the wellbeing of you - Team ASPH, as we navigate these challenging times. With this in mind, I would like to be able to engage with as many of you as possible, to see how you are, and to answer any questions you may have about our strategy and plans for the upcoming months. To do this, we'll be setting up a number of virtual Team Talks, in the form of a Microsoft Teams meeting, starting next Thursday 21st May at 10am.

 

This will be open to everyone within the Trust, so please do join us if you can. I have included the instructions on how to join below. I understand that this will not be possible for some colleagues so would welcome you to email your question to the Communications team beforehand if this is more convenient.

 

How to join and participate

You'll receive an outlook calendar invitation which will include the meeting details, and a link that you can click on that will take you to the meeting. This can be done on your smart phone or PC.

When you enter the meeting, please turn your microphone off so that we don't pick up any background noise from your surroundings. Please also turn your camera off.

If you have a question that you would like one of the Executive team to answer, please email it to the Communications team prior to the meeting. This will enable us to answer more questions in the meeting and you will be able to ask anonymously.

If you would like to ask a question during the meeting, please open the chat function (the speech bubble icon on the right hand side of your screen) Please note that questions asked in this way are not anonymous and whilst we will do our best to answer them during the meeting, it may not be possible to answer all questions that come in via this method, particularly if multiple questions are being received at the same time.

 

In addition to this I will also be doing a number of more localised Team Talks with different departments to understand the challenges facing you as teams. These will be set up with department leads and we'll share more detail as and when they are confirmed.

Please do bear with us as we navigate the most effective ways of engaging with you all. We are trying out different methods of communicating and there really isn't a "one size fits all" solution that will work for all staff groups, we are aware of that, and are working on other more focused and dedicated solutions for different departments and teams.

In the meantime, please do look out for the calendar invite to the Team Talk next week and I look forward to speaking with as many of you as possible.

Chief Executive's Message

On a regular basis, our Chief Executive sends a message to staff about events at the hospitals, special achievements, and plans for the future.

We shall be adding them to this section as well as including them on our Twitter and Facebook pages.

From time to time, we shall ask other members of the Trust Board and clinical team to give their perspective on the week in our hospitals.
